Shani Gal Oz, PhD
I am a computational biologist, interested in autoimmune mechanisms and interindividual differences in health and disease, in particular sex differences. I am a postdoctoral research fellow at Brigham and Women’s hospital, at Prof. Michael Brenner’s laboratory and co-mentored by Dr. Ilya Korsunsky. During my Ph.D. with Dr. Tal Shay at Ben-Gurion University in Israel, I studied the transcriptional differences in the immune system of male and female mice and the immune response to type-I interferon, in cell populations and single cells. Since 2023, I act as a board member of the Israel Society for Sex- and Gender-Conscious Medicine. In addition to my research, I love dancing and I am a dance teacher and choreographer.
